Leblanc journey through tithing takes the reader from lives that lived on close to nothing so that they might give more to God to those who lived through catastrophes and still saw the moving hand of God in their giving.  I especially liked the insight (whether it is actually entirely Biblical or not, I do not know) on increasing the percentage of the tithe as the income increased.  It was also very insightful to hear the response of the pastor from the parish that was hit by Katrina.  To see how God blessed their church in the midst of such trials. 

Overall the book, Tithing, by Douglas Leblanc is an overall well-rounded book that any new Christian who wants to know more about tithing should read.  Pastors, laymen and those curious of the principle of giving to God would benefit greatly from his collection of stories about how tithing changed each individuals life.

Derailed was an excellent read for me personally and challenged me in my personal walk.  I was provoked to take a deep look into my own character and then formulate how I was going to strive to do better.  My attention was held the entire way through the book, and my personal walk with the Lord was proded to be more like Christ so that I might avoid a future catastrophe, or “derailment”
